V2G Depreciation in Upcoming Release

Hello! I had a few questions about the upcoming release happening this month. I saw a blog post that said V2G will be depreciated and no longer supported in the upcoming release. I use the V2G data and website in my pipelines. Will V2G data still be accessible or moved to a new location? Will the V2G website still exist but not be supported? Also, will V2G data still be accessible using the otargen R package?

I am also wondering the reasoning as to why OpenTargets is no longer supporting V2G. Do you believe V2G is less ‘real’/impactful compared to other resources like L2G, for example?

Thank you!!

Hi @aakritixsingh,

The latest Platform release is now out, introducing updated variant, credible set, and study data!

We have addressed the deprecation of V2G in the Open Targets Platform FAQs (" Why is the V2G score not available anymore?"). Let me know if you have questions that are not addressed by this.

Open Targets Genetics will soon be deprecated so you will no longer be able to access V2G through the web interface. Historic V2G data is still available through our data downloads. I can’t comment on otargen as that is not something we maintain.

Thanks,

Helena
