Availability of Newly Released Heart Failure GWAS in Open Targets

Dear Open Targets Team,

Hi, I always enjoy using your platform to investigate new findings.

Recently, a new GWAS dataset for heart failure has been released.

I want to use the new data to see the colocalization with other features.

Henry, A., Mo, X., Finan, C. et al. Genome-wide association study meta-analysis provides insights into the etiology of heart failure and its subtypes. Nat Genet 57, 815–828 (2025). Genome-wide association study meta-analysis provides insights into the etiology of heart failure and its subtypes | Nature Genetics

Would you have any plan to upload or embed this data into your system?

Best,

Yura

Hi Yura, Thanks for highlighting this study. We can prioritise the data for inclusion in the GWAS Catalog, and Open Targets will take it from there.

Best wishes, Laura (GWAS Catalog)

Laura,

Once the new heart failure GWAS dataset is updated, I’m wondering whether I will be able to view any colocalization results for heart failure in relation to Apolipoprotein F.

Specifically, on the main search screen of the platform, when I type “APOF”, I would like to see “heart failure” appear under the GWAS associations in the target–disease association section.

Would this be possible once the new dataset is integrated?

Thank you,
Yura

Dear Yura,

Once the GWAS is ingested to the platform, all credible sets will be colocalised along with other GWAS and molecular trait credible sets. Check the docs for the process explanation.

Keep an eye on upcoming platform releases.

With kind regards,
