When I was looking on the association of ITGA4 and autoimmune disease, I get a different score depending on whether I’m looking in the gene page or disease page

Dear Aner,
thank you for your query.

The difference in the scores presented in the UI is due to how we handle [direct and indirect evidence](https://platform-docs.opentargets.org/associations#ontological-selection-of-evidence).

Please take a look at [this thread](https://community.opentargets.org/t/score-values-from-disease-target-vs-target-disease/232) for more info.

I hope this helps!
Best wishes,

Annalisa

Hi Annalisa, thank you very much! It was very helpful!

I do have 2 follow-up questions:

1. Does the indirect evidence refers only to GWAS studies, or does it include other evidence?
2. In that case, can we assume that the lower score ITGA4 got in the ITGA4 page, is because the only direct evidence it got (screenshot attached) has a low L2G score (although p-value is very small)?

Hi Aner,
in the Platform, indirect evidence can refer to all evidence; however, in your case (Open Targets Genetics data feed) it only takes into account GWAS studies. I hope I have interpreted your question correctly!

For your question n2 - yes, that is correct. Please see [here](https://community.opentargets.org/t/data-source-scores-ot-genetics-portal-vs-l2g-in-final-association-score/1421) for more info.

Please let me know if you have any further question for us.

Best wishes,

Annalisa
